Our Mission

Making PDF tools free, private, and accessible to everyone. We believe that powerful document processing should not require expensive subscriptions or uploading sensitive files to unknown servers.

How It Works

Every tool on ILikePdf runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. When you process a file, the data never leaves your device. There are no servers handling your documents, no upload queues, and no temporary copies stored anywhere. This client-side architecture means your privacy is guaranteed by design, not by policy.

Technology

We leverage modern web technologies to bring desktop-class PDF processing to the browser. Ghostscript runs via WebAssembly for high-fidelity rendering and conversion. The pdf-lib library handles programmatic PDF manipulation. Our interactive UI is built with a React Lamp component for fast, responsive interactions. All processing happens locally — no backend required.

Our Vision

We are working to expand our tool suite to over 100 tools, all running client-side. Our roadmap includes advanced document analysis, accessibility checking, batch processing, and collaborative features — all while maintaining our core principle: your files never leave your device.

The Team

ILikePdf is built by a small independent team passionate about web privacy, open-source technology, and creating useful tools that respect users. We believe the web can be powerful without being invasive, and we build every feature with that philosophy in mind.

What We Believe About Document Privacy

Every year, millions of documents are uploaded to web tools that store them on shared servers, retain them in logs, and process them with third-party models. Most users never read the privacy policies that permit it. We believe the sensible default for document processing is the opposite: the file you open should be the only copy that exists.

That conviction shapes every product decision. When we add a new tool, we ask how it can run without a server. When a feature seems to require an upload, we look for a WebAssembly or in-browser alternative. The result is a tool suite where "no upload" is an architectural property, not a marketing line.

Who ILikePdf Is For

Students merging lecture slides before a submission deadline. Freelancers compressing deliverables to fit email limits. Legal and HR teams redacting sensitive documents they cannot risk uploading. Developers reaching for a quick conversion tool between builds. Small businesses generating GST invoices without buying accounting software.

If any of those sound like you, every tool on the site is free to use — there is no account, no trial, and no limit to lift.

What's Coming Next

Our public roadmap focuses on depth rather than breadth: better batch processing, smarter AI-assisted document tools, accessibility checking, and collaboration features — all without ever moving your files to a server. We also publish engineering write-ups on this blog so you can see exactly how each tool works under the hood.
