Colour vision deficiency types
Protanopia/deuteranopia (red/green blindness) affect ~8% of males. Tritanopia (blue/yellow) is rarer. Protanomaly/deuteranomaly/tritanomaly are milder forms with reduced sensitivity. Achromatopsia is complete colour blindness; achromatomaly is partial. Designing with CVD in mind means using contrast, texture, and labels — not just colour — to convey information.
